Note: When you upgrade to the latest version of macOS 10.13.4 or launch a Creative Cloud application for the first time on the latest versions of macOS High Sierra, you may see a warning message that indicates Adobe software needs to be optimized for better performance. High Sierra Installer Support More Hardware (Including AMD): High Sierra Installer Supports a far range of Hardware, most audio, wireless and ethernet drivers will be installed automatically. Post Installation is Easier: Just like windows, you have to install drivers to make macOS perfect, which is pretty hard for beginners.

A Message from Superintendent Nora Gutierrez
Dear Tolleson Union High School District Community,
They say that March 'comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.' The reason for this saying is that when the month of March begins, it is still officially winter. When the month ends, it is officially spring. And so it goes.
With that introduction, I want to thank you for your patience and understanding through this unprecedented time in our country. The disruption of the education process that we all had to go through has been a monumental shift in the way we are used to delivering our quality education to students. With that said, on Tuesday evening, February 23, the governing board voted to allow students the opportunity to return to in-person learning on Monday, March 22 should they choose to do so, while allowing those students that prefer to remain online to continue receiving their education that way. March 22 is the first Monday after spring break. We are encouraged by the improving metrics and certainly the promise and optimism surrounding the many vaccines that are providing additional protections against COVID-19.

As we continue pushing through the pandemic, please know that any and all decisions that the Tolleson Union High School District makes are made in the best interests for the health, safety, security, and social/emotional well-being of our students and staff members. Our teachers, staff members, and administrators have all been offered vaccination opportunities through available shot sites and specific points of distribution (PODs) in our footprint area. Many of our staff members and teachers have taken advantage of this opportunity as we do our part to slow the spread of this dreaded disease. We will continue to mask up, maintain social distancing, and keep good handwashing etiquette as we go through our daily lives. The pandemic has made everything a little bit tougher on all of us, but our students and teachers have been great as they have continued to do their absolute best during these most difficult circumstances.
Regardless of what happens over the next month or two, we will do our best to communicate clearly and promptly whenever we have news to share. Please keep checking our district website and our social media pages (Facebook and Twitter) for the latest information on our plans as we move forward. And as always, we have some great and positive news to share with you.
Tolleson Union High School Counselor, Andrea Wolochuk, shared recently that one of Tolleson Union High School's graduating seniors was honored with a National Award for Females in Computing. Only forty young women were selected for this scholarship award nationwide. Adrianna Martinez-Lainez is the daughter of an immigrant family that is hard working and supportive. Each of the forty national award winners receives various prizes, cash, and an invitation to the National Award Ceremony hosted by Bank of America, to be held virtually early this month. Congratulations, Adrianna.
In addition, I would like to share that three students from La Joya Community High School made it into the regional honor band this year! The students are:
- Lucas Garcia on bassoon
- Ximena Castro Magana on clarinet
- Robert Contreras on clarinet

- March 15–19 - Spring Break (No School)
- March 22 - Students may choose to return to in-person learning on campuses (or they may choose to remain online)

When you upgrade to the latest version of macOS 10.13.4 or launch a Creative Cloud application for the first time on the latest versions of macOS High Sierra, you may see a warning message that indicates Adobe software needs to be optimized for better performance. This is due to some 32-bit components that we are working to address in a future Creative Cloud update. Please note that no action is required from you at this time and your applications will still run as normal.

High Sierra Latest Update Download
Adobe has tested the latest versions of Adobe Creative Cloud applications for reliability, performance, and user experience when installed on Intel-based systems running macOS High Sierra (version 10.13). The latest versions of all Creative Cloud products are compatible.
We are aware of some issues that users may experience after upgrading to macOS High Sierra (10.13). We are working hard to resolve these issues in a forthcoming release.
